To answer, someone's question - "Red" is clearly King Crimson's "hardest rock album". Some might feel that it is THE hardest rock album.... Third, a Fripp interview I once read implied that "Three of A Perfect Pair" meant that "Discipline" and "Beat" were a perfect pair, but that the record company contract was for three :-) . This might explain the comments concerning the recording process (which thereby was more of a tape-filling-up process :-) ). Perhaps the title was a warning to fans who weren't "collectors" I'll post more later concerning live '81 .... I don't like them, but it's out there and I thought I'd mention it . . . . . oh yeah, it says it's off the album 'Nerve Net.' ed gilligan at camelot dot bradley dot edu [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] From: pvallado at sdcc13 dot UCSD dot EDU (Paolo Valladolid ) Subject: Re: Discipline #51 Date: Sun, 30 Aug 92 20:07:52 PDT > > My impression is that it was a group process. It would sure be funny to watch/hear Robert play along to a song like "Looking for a UFO" from _Young Lions_ or "Big Blue Sun" from _Inner Revolution_. *8-) Not to knock Adrian's solo work; I love all his stuff that I've heard, from _Desire Caught By the Tail_ to _Revolution_; but his own music has strong Beatle's influences and is far removed >from KC.He does a take on Crimson, by the way, in "This Is What I Believe In", where he uses a guitar synth and a delay unit to create that 'ol interlocking guitar sound. Some of _Desire_, though, would fit very well with Crimson. Ah well. I'm pleased by Peter Thelen's clarification that, instead, double CDs are due. As to Paolo Valladolid's query "Who started the rumors of the Crimson reunion, and where?": I don't have it handy, but Goldmine had a special KC issue at the time of the _Frame by Frame_ release. Fripp was interviewed therein and talked about the reunion. The issue is well worth searching out. -------------------------------------------------- Glenn Lea - reply to gwl at wavetracer dot com Wavetracer, Inc.
