[ Before we hear from Dan, just a personal note from me, if I may: A lot of babble has flowed under the bridge since Monday, 19 August 1991, when the first edition of ET (then called "Discipline") was published. That issue went out to 24 people. ET is now read by rather more thousand people around the world than I care to contemplate, and regular readers will know some of the treats we've had over the years, and off course some of the hassles. It's been fantastic, to say the least. Anyway, as you'll read below, ET Web has now been cut adrift from Manchester University and AOL, and we have a new service provider, and a new site name. I want to thank everyone who's been involved in ET for the last 6 years, and especially Dan Kirkdorffer, Mike Dickson, Mike Stok, Gordon Hendersen, and VBCNet for their amazing work over the last few weeks. I'll shut up now. -- Toby ] All ETers, We finally have a new site we can call our own! Many thanks go to Mike Stok and Gordon Hendersen at VBCNet who have generously offered their time and resources to hosting ET Web. Our new url is http://www.elephant-talk.com/ Please point all your bookmarks and web links to this URL. Also note the new URLs in the Administrivia block at the top of this digest. We also have new email addresses you can reach us by: webmaster at elephant-talk dot com (Dan, Webmeister) moderator at elephant-talk dot com (Toby, ET Moderator) newsletter at elephant-talk dot com (Postings for the newsletter) admin at elephant-talk dot com (automatic subscription admin) help at elephant-talk dot com (human help from Mike Dickson) The old email addresses will still work, these just point to them. Please visit the new site and let us know what you think. It should be faster and more reliable than the old site. The mirror site has been removed as has the site in Manchester.
