If this listing agrees with my last discussion with an A&R guy at Warners, the thing listed here [I'm not sure that's the title, actually] is supposed to be a CD5. What was supposed to be "MSL" is currently having its guitar tracks recut by la Fripp in London and being altered in other ways. The recording which was to be "MSL" supposedly has a release date of August, and a new title of "Nerve Net." "My Squelchy Life" was close enough to being finished to have been given an Opal catalogue number, and to have appeared in the form of a review cassette on the desks of a number of music critics. Both the brit mag "The Wire" and "Q" managed to run reviews of the recording that never appeared. In addition, you can also look for some Eno contributions to appear on the soundtrack of the film "Cool World", and another instrumental recording due out in late October/early November. I hope this helps. -- Still, the world that is or was the person shimmers uneasily at him, in the blank frame that waves at nothing (one arm up, legs bent) like an exuberant bit of graffiti. Stenciled on the damp ground, it's as pure and inviting as a footprint: he's ready to hurl himself into the mold and test the fit. I'm new to this list, but figured I'd butt in with my .02 anyway. Bill s writes: > ... purchased the Tamm book on Fripp (last copy). As I heard it, this book was not authorized by Fripp and he was a bit annoyed by Tamm's insistence on doing it without his permission. According to Fripp, the book is more a book on Tamm than a book on Fripp, not that it wouldn't be interesting. I just saw Adrian Belew tongiht-- what a show! I think it's by far one of the better shows I have been to. I think there was bout an audience of 500 or so there, which isn't bad for Sacramento(especially a relatively unkown like him). His stage presence was awesome right from the first step onto stage to his bungle with the phrase " These Are Words with a D this time" until he left. He's one of the few artists I have seen that actually look like they are having fun on stage-- he smiled this Sh*t eating grin the whole show, which really made things light-hearted and fun. He played a LOT os songs, just as people's previous set-lists were. I was surprised at how much of the new material he played-- 7 songs! I was surprised also to see the crowd respond to the new stuff with as much enthusiasm as they did to all the other songs he played. He is a truly incredible guitarist! He played all his little album ditties just as well live, if not better! His whole band was very tight, and worked well together. I think his best performances were Member of the Tribe and KC's Matte Kudasi-- he could really slide on this one. Very nice. Anyways, what's my point? Well, basically, if you haven't gone and seen him yet and he's coming your way-- DON'T MISS IT! Hasta, Jason ccm025 at othello dot ucdavis dot edu ps-- I didn't realize it until later, but Rob Fetters came out and sat right next to me during the opening act. When they got onstage, I was quite surprised. THe opening act was Over the Rhine. Pretty damn good too!
