It isn't the whole song, just some of the arpeggiations and one or two chords, but if you're an interested guitarist, I can forward it to you. [ Thanks Ed. We got out of sync -- I found this too and posted it in Discipline #34 -- Toby ] BTW, how many people like Court of the Crimson King? Possibly my favorite, though, is the track 'Discipline'-- but its greatness comes not from Fripp or Belew alone, but their cooperation. One I really love is the latter half of 'Starless' (from _Red_) - though serious guitarists might laugh, the slow chromatic climb is VERY effective (i.e. though anyone could play it, he's not just screwing around). I used to really get excited when I heard Babies on Fire on Eno's "Here Come the Warm Jets" (i believe it's called). That seems so antiquated with all the new sounds people have been making. I would have to say several songs from the Heroes and Scary Monsters albums would rank as all time 'killer' favorites. Solos... Fashion It's no Game (loud version) Scary Monsters (even the little kitty cat crying stuff after the solo) Joe the Lion (great rythm guitar) Indisipline I'm not familiar enough with Sunday All Over The World but I do like that sort of League of Gentlemen stuff quite a lot as well. It seems earthier and more immediate to me than the jagged violent synth washes he has become so fond of. They sure do work when they're in the right place though as in Indiscipline! I've always been very curious about his involvment on Van Der Graf Generator's 'Pawn Hearts' album... Is that fuzz organ solo at the end of side 2 Fripp? If it is, that would rank as one of my all time favorite solos as well. If not I sure do love that solo! I just talked to someone who had a chance to talk to Bill after a recent Earthworks concert in Santa Cruz, and he related that Bruford said "I've had it up to here (about top of head height!) with Robert Fripp!" This is second hand of course but I believe it's not too far off. orbiting faithfully around the sun... as usual... Howdy all! I've acquired some tix to the Adrian Belew show here at the Lisner in D.C. Both Belew and Fripp manage to make it into this area at least once a year, Fripp rather more often. I'm surprised they haven't got together 'round here before, since Fripp's guitar "school" is only about 2 hours distance. Bruford comes through with Earth works or with Patrick (sp?) Moraz quite often as well. I've managed to catch them all infrequently (gimme some money to buy all the tix in the world, please!) I've no idea who the California guitar trio who'll be opening for them are. Does anyone else? Are they former Crafty Guitarists? Information pleasantly accepted...
