It is not a reproduction of the album cover but rather an interpretive painting that has each line of the classic 1969 title song of King Crimson's debut album acted out by the whimsical characters of a medieval fantasy kingdom. Painted using medieval painting conventions such as hierarchy of scale and with a nod to Hieronymus Bosch, it evokes perfectly the mood, time and place of the progressive rock classic. I have an instrumental piece attributed to the two and TMC called "It'll End In Tears" - this doest match with what Amazon has re: that title of the 1984 TMC release - do you know what's up here? Thank you -simon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Jan 2007 08:37:51 -0800 From: Grant Beattie Subject: Discipline symbol This is discussed in Sid Smith's book. Apparently Fripp saw the symbol and thought it was an ancient mark (no copyright issues), so he claimed it for KC. Then the creator of the symbol contacted RF and was reimbursed a token fee and told that the symbol would no longer be used. Eventually the symbol was replaced by the one we now associate with DGM Live. Or something like that. GB ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 7 Jan 2007 18:57:08 -0500 From: R. Eric Young Subject: Anagram, anyone?...... Hi there, Fellow ET'ers. I was fooling around this evening after having played the God Save The Queen lp, and started working on what I felt must surely be an anagram for the curiously titled Red Two Scorer. (This is simply a reflection on how exciting 2007 has been so far....) It dawned on my how simple it was and, as this had always been an inquisitive title to me, how silly I felt for having not attempted this as yet. I think I have it. I actually said DUUHH out loud! Anyone wish to reply with suggestions?..............(and without tempting some computer-generated software for this excercise?.........) One thing's for sure - the sheep is not a creature of the air............. The video quality is just awful, but there is good evidence that this is real. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFQD_Zs7MHQ Edgar ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Jan 2007 09:53:07 GMT From: "sgtrichusmfc at netzero dot net" Subject: new cd Hello, Looking for anyone to help me with info on the new CD, as I think I have one with a huge mastering error. This is in ref to "Collector's King Crimson Volume One". Firstly, discs one and two are reversed. I can handle that, but it is inconvenient. But what seems like a Major flaw is the disc that ends with Easy Money....the song just abruptly stops! Followed by a few seconds of tape hiss, then a tape thump. My question, is this supposed to be this way? I understand the tapes are collector's tapes, but there is no mention of this in the liners, so I have to ask. my dealer so far knows nothing about this. I'm hoping you do or can direct met o someone who does (record label perhaps??). Thanks, and looking to hear from you soon! Cordially yours, sgtrichusmfc at netzero dot com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 31 Jan 2007 15:30:28 -0600 From: Charles Stack Subject: Re: review of RF's Microsoft VISTA sounds Hello! I posted the following review of Bob's VISTA sounds on ProgArchives, your readers may be interested: http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp? cd_id=14285#reviews I only gave it a 2-star rating since I think more of Bob's distinct personality could have been left in the mix. Pity that MS didn't allow for that! Maybe RF will release archival material in the future? Please follow up! Also, within minutes of my posting my review & 2 star ratings, other ratings were made! It is now up to three stars! Search for "Fripp Vista" in Google News, you will find a wealth of information about the project! Subject: Robert and the dread amateur photogs Re: Pedro Moreno: Photograph, art, and discipline While it's certainly Robert's choice to walk off the stage because someone makes the mistake of *gasp* photographing him without permission, by doing so he's also giving the finger to all the audience members who behaved correctly, not to mention paid good money to see him perform. What a lovely message, to punish everyone in the audience for the dastardly deeds of an individual. But to each his own, I suppose. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Jan 2007 20:52:13 -0500 From: Rick Huffman Subject: Photography I am a loyal KC fan. Its a shame that arrogance and piety seem to get in the way sometimes of something creative and worthy of respect. The street is two ways, the giver and the receiver. Picture are momentents in time desired to capture that moment to hold as a re-collection of that time and space. The understanding of personal freedoms to act or re-act is always there in any given situation, the freedom to walk off stage is always with Fripp. I've been there and seen it, it is a sad commentary.
