Me, I haven't heard Exposure for well over 20 years (I bought the original vinyl and at the time didn't even know Fripp had been in a band called King Crimson!). Also, I never even knew that there were alternate tracks released over the years. I was, however, eventually made aware of the fact that that there were some alternate takes, sometimes with Darryl Hall, and that they were apparently stopped by the record industry or whatever. What I find funny, though, is that I strongly still prefer the good old original Exposure, though there are perhaps 1 or 2 alternates that come close. What I find in particular is that Darryl Hall's best tracks were on the original, and that his takes of the tunes Peter Hammil sings aren't quite as good. But then again I might change my mind, but I doubt it. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Jun 2006 07:57:43 -0400 From: Andrew Wells Subject: AYE, AYE, AYE! AYE, AYE, AYE! FINALLY A SCRAP OF FOOD THROWN TO THE EMACIATED CRIMSONites WAITING SO patiently under the table. It's not Crimson but I'll drink from the cup!! This may be old news to some but here goes. I saw on Porcupine Tree's website yesterday an anouncement that they wil be touring to promote a very soon to be released DVD. They also anounced that there will be another band? Playing with them. The other band or whatever you want to call it is "Project Six" Adrain Belew and Robert Fripp. I am poised and ready to buy tickets for the October 7th Show at the Keswick theater in PA. You can check it out for yourself at http://www.porcupinetree.com/. ??Of sounds and silence???? Which is more important sounds or silence? I love them both. The music is where it's at!!! - the Jersey Devil, better known as, Andy. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Jun 2006 17:13:25 -0700 (PDT) From: John B. and Mary Pace Subject: Exposure At 52 I'd never heard this album. One would think I had by now. So, it is truly a nice little trip for me. I felt some dry humor in it, though that may be my own interpretation. I never try to analyze or intellectualize a piece of music...probably because I'm just not that good at that sort of thing. I just listen, enjoy or not enjoy. This is one that's a good keeper. I enjoy it in a 5 star sort of way. If you're hesitant, the leap at purchasing is worth it!
