I think that the drop off started when Et went to the existing method for posting messages. A little too complicated when compared to the previous method of just sending off a post. I realize that the change was brought about due to all of the SPAM that was making Mike Dickson's life miserable. But, I think that it killed the spontaneity. Just my thoughts. DGM-Online Shop offers some CD's as "a copy of..." which are much cheaper than the regular CD's. For example "A copy of Robert Fripp-Love cannot bear" costs $7.99 and "Robert Fripp-Love cannot bear" they sell for $14.99. Or "Copy of 4CD Box 1981-2003" costs $25.99 and for the uncopied box they want $49.99. What are they doing, can someone help? Are they selling CD-R's, or something? I tried to ask someone at DGM-Online Shop, but to my disappointment they almost never answer my emails... siggy ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Mar 2006 07:21:50 +0100 From: odn07039 Subject: Re: "A copy of.."? To ET-List-Moderator (my last e-mail's question now being answered by myself) or to all: finally, after two more tries, DGM-Shop spoke to me: "A copy of.." means the bargain offer, they are the same as the regular CD's. So have no fear, buy the 4CD-Box 1981-2003 for only $25.99...:-) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Mar 2006 14:24:53 -0800 (PST) From: Dan Wasser Subject: Is ET dead? David Kirkdorffer asked if ET was dead. I hope not 'cause I just donated money to ET! (and you should, too!) [ *** Thank you very much! All donations go to pay our webserver and name registration fees. And, as you will have noticed, ET will now be published at least weekly, regardless of the number of posts we've received (unless there are 0 of course!) --Toby (ET Moderator) *** ] Seriously, I think there's less chit chat because Crim itself is kind of dormant. If they're not recording new stuff and not touring, then there's not much to discuss, is there? I mean, as much as I love The Beatles, I can't believe that there are so many chat forums and bulletin boards about 'em. So, the same thing goes for Crim: if THEY aren't active, I can't see how we can be so active, either. On the other hand, I never posted that much anyway. Dan ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Mar 2006 14:35:46 -0800 (PST) From: Dan Wasser Subject: Crim reference on Tony's web site Tony Levin posted this on March 12: I dont' know what's coming with Crimson - I have heard rumors from fans, but nothing from the one real source! http://www.tonylevin.com/comments.html Possibly as a result of my posting in his guestbook: "Tony: do you feel bad or insulted that you're not part of the Belew/Fripp "reunion" that's taking place at Adrian's studio? I think that since you're a member of Crim that you should be there. Have you discussed this with Pat M? Maybe you were invited but you just couldn't make it. Or maybe it's none of my business. Love you." also at that same URL Dan ------------------------------ End of Elephant Talk Digest #1222 *********************************
