Is this an approved DVD from King Crimson? and if not, why are they getting away with selling it! I refuse to purchase anything which is not official, as it is a waste of money (basically audio/visual is terrible.. quality overall is terrible) and also no money goes to the artist involved. Could you let me know before I part with my money? Thank you. I have an acceptable LTIA pt. 1 VHS recorded from some TV program years ago. I recently purchased a copy of 'Rock goes To College' featuring Bill Bruford's band circa 1979. The quality isn't the best, but the performances are very good. Another reason I purchased the DVD was for the bonus features. Some are as follows... KC 1973 doing LTIA pt 1 (with Jamie Muir) An ad for LTIA which is like a movie ad. Very cool and they are playing LTIA pt. 2. and there is a 12 minute version of Easy Money from 1973 or 1974. Now,obviously this video footage exists, and I hate to buy bootlegs...but it is better than nothing. It also something the normal channels are either unable or unwilling to provide. If anyone has information about better versions, please post the info or email me. hologram at lancerika dot com (audio grade C / video grade C / performance A+ / historical value A+++) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Apr 2005 06:08:28 -0700 (PDT) From: George Khouroshvili Subject: New David Cross CD and performances Hello everyone, It is a bit too short notice but David Cross Band is going to perform in London this weekend. http://david-cross.com/cross.html David Cross Band concerts at The Standard Music Venue (1 Blackhorse Lane, London E17 6DS in Walthamstow) in London on Sunday April 17 2005 http://www.standardmusicvenue.co.uk enquiries 020 8503 2523 CD "Closer than skin" is available on the Noisy Records Website,. Eliot from "The Wasteland." I have also heard "jug, jug, jug. So rudely forced." Also Eliot from same source. Search for books on tape if you want the experience. In fact, Krimsos, the title is from "Four Quartets" by the same author. Put guitar magazines aside and read these works. Far, far better for the mind and the soul. My e-mail address is indoor-games at narod dot ru . Hi Daniel, The title "Deception of the Thrush" is the line from the poem of Thomas Sterns Elliot "Burnt Norton". The text itself represents several extracts from his other poem "The Wasteland" - the voice goes through Trey's Touch Guitar. At http://indoor-games.narod.ru/wasteland.htm you'll find the full Elliot's text. Lines found on different releases of the "Deception of the Thrush" are marked out by red colour. Yours, Vladimir Kalnitsky P.S. The link to this page is: http://www.porcupinetree.com/news.cfm IMHO, PT is a great band in its own right and it is quite fitting that RF is warming up for them, as Steve Wilson (band founder and leader) openly acknowledges that KC is one of his major influences. Much better match than Tool, as well. My only regret is that I will be flying from Texas to Chicago to catch PT there and in Milwaukee, and that I won't be at the shows where RF is warming up. But all you West Coast folks should make it!! Cheers, Leo M. If you missed the show you can listen any time on archive right here http://www.thedividingline.com/p.html Attached is the playlist and a brief blurb about Saturday's show! "We took to the air an hour early Saturday night. We went in thinking there was no way--none whatsoever--that we could pull off a 4-hour show. But we were wrong. Oh, so very wrong. Saturday night's "Prog'opolis" reached a new plateau of internet broadcasting genius that must be listened to in order to be fully comprehended. Well okay it wasn't that good, but it sure was fun. And the hour-long "Crimson Connection" sure kicked some major tush. We also premiered music from Azureth and Area 39. We even played Rush--gasp! But don't take it from me, come find out for yourself. And if you discover at any point that you feel you've wasted your time, the hosts of this show guarantee to consider taking steps to ensure that you will someday be compensated for that loss.
